Stay with us at Ryedale Vineyards

Enjoy the unique experience of staying on a vineyard in the North of England, and visit some of the many and diverse attractions this region has to offer.

We are situated at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the heart of the countryside, yet only about 12 miles from the historic walled city of York, with a convenient, simple journey to the local Park and Ride. Visit York Minster, the Yorvik Museum, the National Railway Museum, the famous Betty's Tearooms and a wide range of restaurants and theatres.

We have Castle Howard, Hovingham and Helmsley close by, several of the Yorkshire Abbeys within easy driving distance, or if you want to have a day at the coast, Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all within easy reach.

Birdwatchers are particularly welcome. If you are planning a tour of Yorkshire reserves we are within easy reach of Bempton, Filey Dams, Wheldrake Ings, with Spurn Point and Blacktoft Sands just a little further away. On the Vineyards we have a wide variety of species living and nesting including tree sparrows and barn owls, and as we work on the vines we are amongst soaring skylarks and swooping swallows.

The farmhouse is not served by regular public transport so it is advisable to have your own vehicle when staying with us.

We have two guest bedrooms for our guests, "The Attic Suite" and "The Vine Room ".

Green Policy

We aim to use energy efficiently, making use of many energy saving light bulbs and appliances, switching off electrical items rather than using ‘stand-by’. We make use of good clean country air and sunshine to dry the washing whenever possible!

We also make use of eco-friendly cleaning agents and try to use water efficiently by using showers rather than baths, not running water unnecessarily and installing “Hippo bags” in our toilet cylinders. We recycle as much waste as is possible within the local authority provision.

Please note: We operate a NO SMOKING POLICY in the house, but are happy for people to smoke outside in the garden. There is an ashtray provided - an upturned terracotta plant pot!

Anyone smoking inside the house will be asked to leave immediately.

We would very much appreciate it if you could help us in implementing our Green Policy as we are working towards joining the Green Tourism organisation in the future.
