WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY - OWNED YORKSHIRE VINEYARD

Ryedale Vineyards is one of the most northerly commercial vineyards in the United Kingdom and is a family run business in North Yorkshire, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds near to York and Castle Howard. We were voted one of the 12 best vineyards to visit and tour in England and Wales in 2019 and regularly win awards for our wines.

All aspects of wine production from pruning to harvesting to pressing, fermenting, bottling and labelling are carried out by hand in our converted cow byre.

The Vines

We have 15000 vines with 18 different varieties of grapes including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Bacchus. We offer an informal, humorous and informative guided tour and tasting which starts with visitors shown the vines and vineyard, a visit to our winery and ends with sampling our wines and ciders with local cheeses. Tours run from Easter until the end of harvest in late October and can include an optional pre tour cream tea.  Events are held regularly at the vineyard, including Open Days, Live Theatre and Yorkshire Day celebrations witha brass band and Morris Dancing.

"We have adopted a low spray approach which benefits the environment, wildlife and birdlife, we encourage wild flowers and have two natural plant and bog garden."

Our Apples

The 120 plus heritage apple trees around the vineyard are all used in our cider and pressed by hand, our varieties include Keswick Codling, Flower of the Town, Ribston Pippin, Cats Head and many more.  Our wild damsons and plums are used in our deliciously fruity Plum Cup. Soft fruits are grown to make jams which are used in our cream teas.
