We run tours and tastings from Easter until the end of October, most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.  If a date is not showing it is fully booked or booked for a private event. You can either book direct on to a tour or gift a tour and tasting voucher for the recipient to book on a tour date

Our SatNav postcode is YO60 7LS however, we share a postcode with neighbouring farms. Going towards Leavening on the road signposted Leavening, Burythorpe & Thixendale we are the first farm on the right. We have two white signs at the top of our farm track. Although our postal address is Westow, we are on the road to Leavening. A map can be found here.  Our ///what3words are bubbles.outlined.chaos.

  • How do I book onto a wine tour with an Activity Superstore voucher?

We will not be accepting Activity Superstore vouchers after  December 2022.

  • Can I change the date of my booked tour

We can reschedule your tour once if you let us have at least 48 hours notice.  We cannot reschedule again.  We cannot reschedule your tour if you do not turn up for your booked tour.  Please do chose a date carefully as time spent rescheduling tours is spent away from essential work on the vineyard.

  • When is the best time to visit the vineyard?

This very much depends on what you want to see. The vines are dormant and hard pruned over winter, around late spring bud burst occurs. Flowers appear on the vines usually in June and fruit starts forming straight after flowering. We harvest early to mid September right through October depending on the weather.

  • Can I stay overnight following my wine tour?

We have selected dates, Fridays and Saturdays, available for booking here.  Please note demand is high for the vineyard B&B.  We do not provide vouchers for stays.

  • When will I have a tour if I am staying with you?

For guests staying with us you can add the option of a wine tour and tasting to your booking. Tours will be held at 4pm Fridays and 3pm Saturdays on the day of arrival.

  • What time is check in for the B&B?

Check in is from 3pm, we do ask politely that you do not arrive too early to check in, we are working hard to clean and prepare rooms for you and it does take some time.  Check out is 10.30am.

  • Do you do private tours?

If you have a party of 20 or more we may be able to run a private tour and tasting, please contact us for details.

  • Do you allow camping or caravans?

We are sorry but we do not have the facilities to allow camping at the vineyard.

  • Can I bring children to the tour?

The tour and the working nature of the farm are not suitable for children

  • Can I bring my dog?

No, dogs are not permitted at the vineyard or left in a car.  There are sheep at the vineyard. Assistance dogs are welcome.

  • I don’t want to drive, is there public transport?

The vineyard is in a rural area, there is no public transport. The nearest rail station is Malton approximately seven miles away which has links to Leeds and Scarborough. Taxis are available in Malton near to the station but should be booked in advance to ensure they are available.

  • Is there anywhere to stay nearby?

If we are fully booked, there are places to stay in Malton approximately seven miles away or surrounding villages, more information can be found on www.visitmalton.com and www.yorkshire.com/malton both sites feature local accommodation providers, hotels, inns and camping and glamping sites.

Alternatively, we can recommend Burythorpe House Hotel who are approximately 4 miles from the vineyard. Taxis are available from Malton railway station. We would recommend pre booking your taxi.

  • Where can I eat if I am staying with you?

There are two local pubs both serving delicious food, The Jolly Farmers at Leavening is less than 1.5 miles and The Blacksmith's Arms at Westow is around 3 miles away. Details of both can be found on their websites.

  • Do you have a cafe?

No we are a working vineyard and do not have any facilities for visitors wishing to buy meals.  We serve cream teas an hour before tours which are booked beforehand.

  • Can I buy wine when we come to visit?

Yes wine and cider are sold direct from the cellar door.

  • Can I pop down to buy wine?

Yes, although it is best to telephone us first on 01653 658035 as we can be working away in the fields and there may not be anyone here to assist. We are closed Mondays.

  • My favourite wine is out of stock, can you make some more?

If only it was that easy.  I am afraid quantities of wine are dictated by the previous years harvest, more will be made only after the next harvest.  We are planting as quickly as we are able to increase quantities. We do not buy in grapes or juice, everything we sell is grown on our vineyards.

  • Is your wine suitable for vegans?

    Yes.

  • Can I pop down to have a look around?

Whilst we love having visitors to talk to we are usually incredibly busy and we don't like to appear rude when we say we do not have time to show you around, so we would ask you to book on a tour if you can or visit us on one of our Open Days

  • Do you have harvest volunteers?

Volunteers at harvest time are always welcome. We send out an email with harvesting dates around early September, if you would like to join us let us know and we will include you in our mail out. A hearty lunch and a bottle of wine is included.
